Perhaps more than any other soil conditioner or fertiliser, FCRD supplies large quantities of silicates to plants. The silicon dioxide not only helps to unlock nutrients in the soil but, more importantly, replaces silica into the soil so that plants can take it up to build strong cell walls. Strong cell walls, rich in silica, mean the plant itself is stronger and healthier, meaning it is more resistance to insects, disease, fungus, frost and drought.

It is a big claim that FCRD helps to withstand drought however the reason this claim can be made is because stronger plants are able to maintain a higher wilting point (eg stand up for longer) and hence photosynthesis for longer between watering. When dealing in environments with watering restrictions, this feature can mean the difference between your plants thriving or dying.
