FCRD Trials
Trials and research on Fishers Creek Rock Dust have been conducted over the past 20 years. Many of the trials have been used to explain anecdotal observations seen in the field and to establish soil efficiency in both tropical and temperate climates.

Grape Trials (2005-2008)
FCRD has and continues to trial its mineral rock dust on vineyards on two types of grape at two locations in Mintaro and Cadell (South Australia). These trials have established that FCRD produces significant increases in yield with substantial cost/benefit outcomes for growers.

Orange Trials -
FCRD has trialled its mineral rock dust on an orchard at Cadell in the Riverland in South Australia. These trials have established that FCRD produces significant increases in yield with substantial cost/benefit outcomes for growers and that these increases persist for at least 3 years.

Future Trials
FCRD is looking for those interested in rock dust to host trials. The crops FCRD are interested in are:

Grapes
Citrus
Horticulture generally
Olives
Vegetables
Almonds
Forrestry

The trials would aim to identify FCRD's effects on:

Yield
Quality of produce
Soil composition
Longevity of effects

Gutteridge Report (1993)
Field Experiments were conducted to examine the effect of applications of mineral rock dust in combination with nitrogen and phosphorus fertilisers. (November 1991 - October 1993)

RIRDC and James Cook University Report (2001)
This report was sponsored by the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation and was undertaken by the James Cook University, Townsville, to investigate the properties of mineral rock dust and its benefit on improving the productivity of acidic, highly weathered soils.
